What I am Currently Reading:
Journey to the Cross by Paul David Tripp
My very first Lenten Devotional. In all my Christian upbringing, I have never observed Lent and I must say, it has been a transformative experience so far. This isn’t done for the sake of tradition, no. As Christians we can get caught up in the everyday, and lose the reasons of the ‘why’. Paul David Tripp takes you on a 40 day journey through reflective thoughts, observation and grounding in scripture. Each day draws my mind and heart back to the central truth of the gospel, placing me again in a posture of awe before God. That as I stand in the shadow of the cross, I am reminded why Jesus came and where He meets me — in my need, in my weakness, and in His abundant grace.
Side By Side by Edward T. Welch.
Side by Side by Edward T. Welch is a gentle but deeply grounding read for me—especially as someone trying to walk faithfully with others while still very aware of my own limits- something I really need to be reminded of. Recommended by my pastor, it is reframing how I think about helping: not as fixing or having the right words, but as humbly walking alongside someone with Scripture, prayer, and presence. Welch’s emphasis on ordinary believers caring for one another feels freeing rather than burdensome. It reminds me that real Christian care happens in everyday conversations, shared tears, and small steps of faith—side by side, under God’s grace.
Loving this one so far!
The Gospel Comes with A House Key by Rosaria Butterfield
This book is both challenging and strangely comforting. Given to me by a close friend, it is pushing me to rethink hospitality—not as something polished or impressive, but as costly, ordinary, and deeply gospel-shaped. Butterfield’s vision of an open home and an open life feels confronting at times, especially in seasons when capacity feels thin, yet it keeps drawing me back to Christ’s radical welcome of sinners like me. This book doesn’t just encourage hospitality; it exposed my fears and reminded me that the gospel is lived out slowly, imperfectly, and around real tables with real people.
